Hi there everyone!

We’re very excited to tell you that our retail bedding plant catalogue is finally ready! We’ve reformatted it into a booklet and Liz Clayton one of our co-op members has added her creative touch! We love it! You can download the catalogue, retail price list and order form by visiting our JUST Bedding Plants page.

Watch for our plants at Organza and Humboldt’s Legacy again this year and new in 2012, Mondragon Bookstore and Coffeehouse! We’re happy to be working with another co-op in helping to bring healthy sustainably-grown foodlings to the downtown core!

We’re also gearing up for our annual plant sales in Roseisle and Winnipeg. More details to follow and until then…

Hi there everyone,

Well we just attended ‘Seedy Saturday’ this past weekend and swapped seeds, attended a few workshops and generally got excited about the upcoming growing season!

We’ve already started seeding and we’re changing things up this year. We’re doing things more sustainably, streamlining our operations to be more efficient and focusing on what our customers want us to grow.

Onions and perennial herbs are up and some annual flowers too! We get excited about this stuff!

Organza and Humboldt’s Legacy will be supporting us once again. We’ll also be doing Mary Jane’s Cooking School 3rd Annual Garden Party Fundraiser on Saturday, May 26th. We’ll add more info as we confirm.

Also, we’ll be posting some new pictures in our gallery. Andrew and Brad have built a few solar collectors to direct heat into the basement of the house where we do our starts. Andrew has recently completed a self-employment program through the YMCA-YWCA Business Training Centre and has started up a a business called RadiantWave Solar. He is exploring funding options to build a commercial prototype for future marketing through the co-op.

In the meantime, our plants are warm and happy and our hydro bill is manageable!

And… spring is just around the corner!

We’ll be on “Wooden Spoons“ CKUW 95.9 FM at 8 am to promote Mary Jane’s Cooking School 2nd Annual Garden Party Fundraiser! I know it’s early, but we’ll have coffee together and listen to some fine local music! Mary Jane Eason, the host of the show and the inspiration behind Mary Jane’s Cooking School, will be asking me some questions!
